Youth Bike Summit Agenda:
Sunday, October 6th - 2pm to 9pm
Venues: University of Toronto Schools and JoyRide150
2 to 3 Welcome & Icebreaker
3 to 4 Cycling Advocacy in Ontario
6 to 7 Transportation to JoyRide150
7 to 7:30 Dinner
9 to 10 Transportation to Overnight Accommodations
Monday, October 7th - 8:30am to 7pm
Venues: North York Civic Centre and Queen's Park
8 to 9 Breakfast
9 to 10:15 Keynote Speakers
10:15 to 12 Advocacy Training
12 to 1:30 Lunch
3 to 4 Transportation to Queen’s Park
4 to 5 Tours of Queen’s Park & Visit to the Legislature
5 to 7 MPP Reception and Announcement of Youth Cycling Agenda
Overnight Accommodations:
School Gymnasium: Optional overnight accommodations are available to all participants on Sunday, October 6th. Participants are invited to sleep overnight in the gymnasium at University of Toronto Schools (Spadina Rd & Bloor St West) free of charge. Adult supervision will be provided at a ratio of 10:1, in addition to the presence of security guards. Students staying overnight are responsible for providing their own sleeping bag, mat, pillow, etc.
Hyatt Regency: In addition to the free overnight accommodations provided in the school gymnasium, rooms have been reserved at a discounted rate of $179/night at the Hyatt Regency on King, 370 King St. West, Toronto, for those youth and adults looking for accommodations. To receive this rate, please email april.zou (a) hyatt.com and mention that you are with the Youth Bike Summit.
JoyRide150
On Sunday evening, summit participants will travel to JoyRide150 for an exciting evening of bike riding, speakers and a film. Before attending the summit, a parent/guardian must visit http://www.joyride150.com/plan-a-visit/waiver to complete a simple online waiver.
Poster Presentations
During lunch on Monday, there will be space to display posters outlining the cycling initiatives underway at participating schools and municipalities. Posters are optional and are a great way to profile your work. Participants who prepare a poster are responsible for the content, printing and transportation of their poster.
